Set up Website Backup & Monitoring

Connect your website and database so they're backed up and monitored every day.

After ordering Website Backup & Monitoring, connect your website to it.

What you need

  • SFTP or FTP login for your website: host, port, username and password. For Webmart hosting, create an FTP account in cPanel.
  • Database login (host, name, username, password) if your site uses a database, such as WordPress.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Client Area, go to Services → My Services, and click your Website Backup service.
  2. Click Log in to Dashboard.
  3. Click Add Website and enter your website address.
  4. Enter the SFTP/FTP details and click Connect.
  5. Choose the website’s root folder, usually public_html, and continue. The first backup starts automatically and can take a few hours for big sites.
  6. Click Add Database and enter your database details. On Webmart hosting, you may need to allow remote access to the database. Ask us if the connection fails.

Daily change alerts

Each day you’ll receive an email listing the files that were added, modified or deleted. Changes you didn’t make can be an early sign that your site has been hacked. If you see any, contact us.
