Upload your website files
Publish your website using cPanel File Manager or FTP.
Your website’s public files go in the public_html folder. The file that opens first must be called index.html or index.php.
Option 1: File Manager (no software needed)
- Log in to cPanel and open File Manager under Files.
- Open the public_html folder.
- Click Upload, and drag in your files. For many files, upload one .zip file instead.
- If you uploaded a .zip, go back to File Manager, right-click it and choose Extract. Make sure the files end up directly inside
public_html, not in a subfolder. - Visit your domain to check the site.
Option 2: FTP (for larger sites)
- In cPanel, open FTP Accounts and create an account, or use your main cPanel login.
- Install an FTP program such as FileZilla.
- Connect with:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Host | yourdomain.co.bw (or your server IP) |
| Protocol | FTP with explicit TLS, or SFTP if enabled |
| Port | 21 (FTP) |
| Username | Your FTP or cPanel username |
| Password | Its password |
- Upload your files into
public_html.
