Create a MySQL database
Set up a database and user for your website or application.
Most installers (such as the WordPress installer) create the database for you. Follow these steps if you’re installing an application manually.
- Log in to cPanel and open Manage My Databases (or MySQL® Databases) under Databases.
- Under Create New Database, enter a name and click Create Database.
- Under Add New User, enter a username and a strong password, and click Create User.
- Under Add User To Database, choose the user and the database, and click Add.
- Tick ALL PRIVILEGES and click Make Changes.

| Database name | The full name shown in cPanel, including the prefix (e.g. cpuser_shop) |
