Change your website’s PHP version

Choose a supported PHP version for better security and speed.

1 min read Updated

PHP is the programming language behind WordPress and most websites. Older PHP versions stop getting security fixes, so keep your site on a supported version: PHP 8.3 or newer where your site is compatible.

Change the version

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Search for PHP and open MultiPHP Manager, or Select PHP Version if that’s what you see.
  3. Tick your domain, choose the new PHP version, and click Apply.
  4. Visit your website and check the main pages, forms and checkout.

If the site shows errors, switch back to the previous version and contact your web developer to update the code.

Change PHP settings

To change limits like upload_max_filesize, memory_limit or max_execution_time, open MultiPHP INI Editor (or the Options tab in Select PHP Version), choose your domain, adjust the values and save.
