Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)

Add a one-time code from your phone to protect your account.

1 min read Updated

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means that even if someone learns your password, they can’t log in without a code from your phone. We strongly recommend it: your Client Area controls your domains, and losing it can mean losing your domain.

What you need

An authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy.

Turn it on

  1. Log in to the Client Area.
  2. Click your name at the top right, then Security Settings.
  3. Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Enable.
  4. Choose Time Based Tokens and click Get Started.
  5. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
  6. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, and click Submit.
  7. Save the backup code that’s shown. Store it somewhere safe, offline.

From now on, you’ll enter a code from the app each time you log in.
