Stop your emails going to spam (SPF, DKIM and DMARC)
Add the DNS records that prove your emails are genuine.
Gmail, Outlook.com and other providers check three records before trusting email from your domain. Missing records are the most common reason legitimate emails land in recipients’ spam folders.
| Record | What it does |
|---|---|
| SPF (TXT) | Lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain |
| DKIM (TXT) | Adds a digital signature to every email you send |
| DMARC (TXT) | Tells receivers what to do with email that fails SPF or DKIM, and sends you reports |
Hosting email (cPanel)
- Log in to cPanel and open Email Deliverability under Email.
- Find your domain. If SPF or DKIM shows a problem, click Repair, then Install the suggested record.
Business, Enterprise and Pro Mail
Your email service shows the exact SPF and DKIM values in its domain settings. Add them as TXT records. See Add or edit DNS records.
Add a DMARC record
Start with a “monitor only” policy:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | _dmarc |
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected] |
