Set up email on Android

These steps use the Gmail app, which is on almost every Android phone. Samsung Email and other apps use the same settings with similar screens.

1. Open Gmail, tap your profile picture, then Add another account.
2. Choose Other.
3. Enter your full email address and tap Manual setup.
4. Choose Personal (IMAP).
5. Enter your password and tap Next.
6. Incoming server settings: – Username: your full email address – Server: your IMAP server (see server settings) – Port 993, security type SSL/TLS
7. Outgoing server settings: – Make sure Require sign-in is on – Server: your SMTP server – Port 465 with SSL/TLS (hosting email), or 587 with STARTTLS (Business, Enterprise and Pro Mail)
8. Choose how often to sync, and tap Next to finish.

If it won’t connect, test the same address and password in webmail. If webmail works, the problem is in the app settings. If it doesn’t, reset the password.
