Use your domain with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another email provider

Add the verification and MX records your email provider gives you.

You can keep your domain with Webmart and use email from another provider.

What you need

  • DNS hosting (or Webmart web hosting) on the domain, so you can add records.
  • The list of DNS records from your email provider’s set-up screen. These are usually:
  • a TXT record to verify you own the domain,
  • MX records for receiving email,
  • a TXT record for SPF (e.g. v=spf1 include:... ~all),
  • CNAME records such as autodiscover, and DKIM.

Steps

  1. Start the domain set-up in your email provider’s admin centre and copy the records it shows you.
  2. Add the verification TXT record first. See Add or edit DNS records.
  3. Wait 15 to 60 minutes, then click Verify at your email provider.
  4. When you’re ready to switch, delete the old MX records and add the new ones.
  5. Add the SPF, DKIM and other records.
